Copa America: draw between Ecuador and Peru

Ecuador and Peru tied a 2-2 draw in a Group B match at the Copa America on Wednesday.

Peru showed a lot of character by closing a two-goal deficit in the second half to snatch the draw.

Ecuador scored twice in the first half. The team took advantage of an opponent’s blunder in the 23rd minute when Renato Tapia scored on his own side to take the lead. Before retreating to the locker room for the break, Ayrton Preciado added to the Ecuadorian attack. It was 2-0.

Peru quickly showed their fangs to snatch the draw, because in less than ten minutes after the break, two goals were scored. Gianluca Lapadula put his country on the board in the 49th minute. Five minutes later, André Carrillo tied the game with a game prepared by Lapadula.
