Copa America: Brazil exempt and rest 6 days – Selection

After its first two successes in Copa America, against Venezuela (3-0) and Peru (4-0), Brazil is exempt from the third day of the competition and put on rest for six days. A decision taken because group B comprises five nations. La Seleçao thus recharges the batteries for its next match which will take place only on the night of Thursday to Friday against Colombia (at 2 a.m. French time, on L’Equipe.fr).

Despite these break times, the Brazilians still remain first in their group with six points ahead of Colombia (4 points) and can thus clinch their qualification for the quarter-finals in the event of success against James Rodriguez’s teammates.
