Name of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md is one of the strongest to accompany presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. Mahfud doesn’t want to take this seriously.
“Just let it proceed,” said Mahfud after visiting the Nurul Qurnain Islamic Boarding School in Sukowono District, Jember, as reported by detikJatimSunday (24/9/2023).
Mahfud also did not want to talk further about the presidential election during his visit. He wants to focus on his activities by visiting a number of Islamic boarding schools.
“I didn’t come here to talk about the presidential election (and) about the general election. The visit was to an Islamic boarding school. It has nothing to do (with the presidential election). This was before the presidential election season. I always went to the Islamic boarding school,” he said.
Previously, PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) politician Masinton Pasaribu revealed that the name of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md was intensively discussed within the party to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. Masinton said that Mahfud’s experience in leading government institutions was a consideration.
“Prof Mahfud Md is one of the figures who has been intensively discussed to accompany Mas Ganjar. His firm and consistent leadership experience in state and government institutions is the main consideration for being paired with Mas Ganjar Pranowo to continue Indonesia’s leadership in the future,” said Masinton when contacted, Monday (19/9).
