The signal was first broadcast on Sunday morning, then at 11:51 and 11:59. It was picked up by drivers of nine trains in Białystok – reported RMF FM. Five trains were on the road, four stood on the siding.
Trains that were on the road stopped for a minute. After verifying that there was no threat and receiving the consent of the duty officer, the trains continued.

We are probably dealing with a coordinated attempt to disorganize the railroad, to show that it is powerless and that you can do what you want with it. Let us remind you that weapons are probably transported to Ukraine by rail – he emphasizes.
We cannot talk about a case and a clear signal is being sent to us: someone wants to show us that our railway is vulnerable and we are not in control of security, since one, two or three such actions can be carried out – he adds.
The expert estimates that analog communication “is the Middle Ages in which our turn is stuck”. – Sending a radio-stop signal is not difficult, you do not need to have great skills here. It is enough to have a special device, know the railway frequency and know what signal to send. I’m sure I could stop trains if I tried. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, he says.
According to Furgalski, the transition to digital communication will not solve the problem, because this system can also be hacked. In his opinion, the only way is to reach those responsible for causing the difficulties. – As the aforementioned kids did, the penalties were not large, rather symbolic and did not deter. If, on the other hand, the action is organized by someone from the East, then we have a task here for the services that should track down the perpetrators. This, of course, does not mean that similar situations will not occur in the future. You need to search, punish and publicize quickly – concludes the expert.
The trains stopped. Another sabotage?
Stanisław Żaryn, the deputy minister of special services coordinator, referred to the incidents on the tracks on Saturday. As he reported, ABW steps were taken to remedy them.
The activities of the ABW are undertaken together with railway companies, in cooperation with the police, the Railway Protection Guard, but also with the Office of Electronic Communications.
Men aged 24 and 29 were detained in Białystok at ul. Joyful. According to news reports, uniformed officers secured amateur radio equipment through which the arrested were to broadcast a sound signal, activating the emergency brake on trains.
At the time of arrest, the 24-year-old – a resident of the district of Skierniewice – was drunk. The 29-year-old is the owner of the apartment where the police action was carried out.
