In the World Cup, the giant slalom has ridden only twice so far, each time in Sölden. She got stuck in the first round four years ago, last year she was the twentieth specialist in the speed discipline.

“Ester likes to race and has not raced since the World Championships, which is a long time,” coach Tomáš Bank recalls the end of last winter in Cortina.

Ledecké coach boils so that her opponents do not laugh. But he doesn’t want extra pounds

“And it’s better to go to the first race in Sölden, where we don’t care so much and it can only be more surprising than to go to the first important race after a very long time at the downhill in Lake Louise, where we already have some ambitions,” he describes the team strategy.

After the race in Sölden, Ledecká should move to Canada, where she will catch up with speed training. She could not go to her favorite training destination in Chile in the summer due to travel restrictions, she trained mostly in Stelvia, Italy, and Kaunertal, Austria.

Unlike last season, the coaching staff of Ledecká a spol. to cooperate with the team of the Slovak star Petra Vlhová. “It’s over,” confirms Bank.

“Why? I would ask Franz, “he smiles mysteriously at alluding to his Austrian colleague Gamper, who joined the team last year. The winner of the big globe for last season, Vlhová, broke up with Italian coach Livio Magoni after disputes and hired Swiss Mauro Pini. The bank is looking for new partners. “We have already seen someone, but it will not be Slovaks,” he knows.
