Cooperation, Samsung Collaborates with LG for OLED TV Panel

Suara.com – Some rumors say if the collaboration is between Samsung and LG will start in the year 2021. Not without reason, this rumor emerged after Samsung was said to have partnered with LG to work on the TV panel YOU ARE anyhow.

Samsung is reportedly still in talks over a joint venture with LG for a new panel from its family. It is possible if this agreement reaches an agreement soon.

Reporting from GSM Arena, Samsung and LG officials have met to discuss OLED panels from their families. An employee of LG then leaked a little information regarding this matter.

It was reported by the LG employee, that currently the company has not yet signed a contract regarding the requested supply. However, production-related consultations are continuing regarding the final details.

This agreement between LG and Samsung is not the first. The two technology companies had built previous communications to work together in the past.

If the agreement is officially made, LG will send 1 million panels to Samsung in the second quarter of 2021. The need for panels will increase to 4 million in 2022.

Samsung’s collaboration for the needs of this OLED TV panel is indeed unusual for this South Korean company. Currently, however, Samsung has decided to switch to OLED TV panels from LG as its supply.

The Samsung agreement is related to the company’s plan to upgrade LCD panels. Samsung is reportedly working on a prototype for its Quantum Dot OLED TV which uses LG’s LCD panel as its flagship.
