In the summer of this year, in June, the 15th cooperation center of the Innovation Agency “Spiečius” will open its doors in Gargždaii. The center will act as a space that promotes entrepreneurship in the region, provides free services to entrepreneurs and brings together an active community.
“Our goal is to make the “Spiečia” cooperation centers available throughout Lithuania, so last year we opened a new “Spiečia” in Kaunas and this year we will start a new one in Gargždai. We already have 14 “Spiečių” that operate in various cities and are accessible to everyone who wants to start and create their own business”, says Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economy and Innovation.
The interest in the services provided by “Spiečių” also does not change – several hundred entrepreneurs from the regions gather in the centers every year.
“Every year, more than 300 entrepreneurs gather in cooperation centers and use entrepreneurship promotion services free of charge for 18 months. The need for services is high, so we aim to make the “Spiečiaus” service basket available in the regions as widely and conveniently as possible,” says Indrė Gendroliūtė-Gerulienė, head of the Regional Business Transformation Department of the Innovation Agency’s Progress Department.
I. Gendroliūtė-Gerulienė reminds that members of “Spiečių” can use entrepreneurship promotion services, receive individual consultations on business start-up and development issues, participate in business mentoring and acceleration programs, attend various events and practical workshops, and use the computerized workplace provided by the center.
“Belonging to the business community, participating in its life, mentoring and consulting help to overcome the fears that often arise at the beginning of a business, and the development of knowledge and competences for the members of “Spiečių” helps to overcome challenges and doubts”, asserts I. Gendroliūtė-Gerulienė.
Klaipėda District Mayor Bronius Markauskas is happy that Klaipėda District is home to many residents who lack original ideas, so the need for “Spiečiaus” has been talked about for a long time.
“Finally, entrepreneurs will have a space where they can meet like-minded people, make acquaintances and gain new knowledge, and perhaps implement joint projects together. After all, sometimes you need very little – a little push, advice. And this center will help businesses to be created, to stand more firmly on their feet and to move forward. I believe that the businessmen of the district will actively participate in the activities of “Spiečiaus” and turn their ideas into meaningful works”, says B. Markauskas.
Currently, “Spiečias” operates in 14 cities: Alytus, Biršton, Kėdainai, Klaipėda, Marijampole, Panevėžys, Plunge, Rokišky, Šiauliai, Taurage, Ukmerge, Utena, Visaginas, Kaunas.
