Ankara, March 17, 2021. The director of Latin America, Pacific and South and Western Asia of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Dursun Ali Yasacan, and the Cuban ambassador in this capital, Luis A. Amorós Núñez, held a cordial meeting at the headquarters of this agency.
At the meeting, the parties examined the cooperation program that TIKA is developing in the Antillean country and recognized the good state of cooperation relations between the two countries.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked TIKA for its support to Cuba, particularly in the execution of the cooperation project for the cultivation of chickpea, which contributes to the efforts of the Cuban government to achieve food sovereignty. For his part, the Turkish executive highlighted the commitment to continue collaboration with Cuba.
Both parties recognized the international solidarity shown by Cuba and Turkey in the fight against Covid-19 and the common interest in seeking collective solutions and greater international cooperation in the face of the pandemic.
The two representatives agreed on the existing potential to consolidate and expand cooperation in other sectors of mutual interest to the two countries.
