Cooper Kupp: season over?

football/nfl/story">

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will have surgery on his right ankle Wednesday and be out for a minimum of four weeks, but it already makes sense to believe he could miss the rest of the season.

His head coach Sean McVay confirmed Tuesday that his name had been placed on the cripple list. The Rams’ tough campaign, if prolonged, could cause them to keep Kupp on the sidelines for an extended period of time. The defending Super Bowl champions are 3-6 after losing 27-17 to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Also, they had to get by without their quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is under concussion protocol.

Kupp has had 812 yards and six touchdowns on 75 receptions this year. He was named the most valuable player of the last final.
