SAN ANTONIO, Texas. – Bexar County has opened seven cooling centers due to the extreme heat Central Texas is experiencing. The centers will operate until this Tuesday, when the notices are expected to be canceled.

The opening hours of the cooling centers are from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. In the facilities there will be emergency personnel to attend to people who need to be treated due to the harmful effects that high temperatures can have. There will also be water for residents.

High temperatures will range from 100 to 110 degrees for south central Texas and continue through Tuesday. However, they will be felt between 108-112 degrees in most cities under the advisory.

The cities under extreme heat advisory are the cities of Georgetown, San Marcos, Austin, Bastrop, Giddings, Hondo, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Seguin, Lockhart, La Grange, Pearsall, Pleasanton, Floresville, Karnes City, González, Cuero and Hallettsville is under an extreme heat advisory.
