Raleigh – Cooler weather is beginning to set in across North Carolina, with temperatures set to drop for the rest of the week.
The National Weather Service (NWS) says temperatures will remain warm during the Labor Day holiday.
The NWS says Monday will bring “warm temperatures and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.”
Temperatures are expected to reach between 80° and 84° during the day, but at night they will drop to between 58° and 62° throughout the country.
Drop in temperatures
However, authorities are warning of the advance of a cold front, which could cause a drop in temperatures and cooler weather.
“A cold front moves in tonight bringing drier air and cooler temperatures for the week,” NWS said.
This is because “a cold front is moving through central North Carolina,” so “much lower temperatures and dry weather will prevail.”
Because of this, starting Tuesday, September 3rd and continuing through the weekend, daytime temperatures during those days will be between 75° and 79°.
However, at night, the temperature will drop more noticeably, with temperatures ranging between 59° and 64° across much of the country.
In this way, the weather is expected to be cooler throughout the rest of the week and with a decrease in temperatures, due to the cold front advancing over NC.
