Cool, on the Mandalika Circuit there is a Sasak Weaving Motif

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com- 2022 MotoGP event in Mandalika Circuit has been taking place from Friday (18/3/2022) to Sunday (20/3/2022).

A number of riders will show their expertise in riding motorbikes on the 4.31 km long track and has 17 corners.

However, there is something unique at the 15th and 16th corners. There is a woven motif that combines red, white and green colors.

As reported by the PUPR Ministry’s Instagram account, this connected T-shaped motif is usually found on the edge of the sasak woven fabric.

The presence of this motif on the track is an effort to introduce the art of weaving as one of the cultural heritages of the Sasak Tribe to the international stage.

Government through Ministry of PUPR indeed often include cultural elements in the various infrastructure designs they work on.

For example, the Parijotho batik motif is pinned on the facade of the ASN flats (rusun) in Sleman, Yogyakarta.

There is also a tourism residential facility (Sarhunta) in NTB which has a roof shape like the roof of a bale barn, which is a storage place for the crops of the Sasak people.
