TRIBUNNEWS.COM — Price cooking oil soared to more than 100 percent in the last three months.
This is certainly complained of by the community, especially housewives.
Current price cooking oil in the market reached Rp. 18,000 per liter. Even in some areas, the price cooking oil is above IDR 20,000 per liter.
This price far exceeds the highest retail price (HET) of IDR 11,000 per liter set by the Ministry of Trade.

Producers cooking oil which raises prices on the pretext, there is a spike in CPO prices in the global market.
As is known, oil palm plantations in Indonesia are so far most concentrated in Kalimantan and Sumatra.

After overtaking Malaysia a few years ago, Indonesia itself is now listed as the largest producer of palm oil or CPO in the world.
Not surprisingly, many oil palm plantation owners and producers cooking oil are entrepreneurs who are included in the list of the richest people in Indonesia.
Apart from owning their own palm oil mills, they also own oil palm plantations of up to tens of thousands of hectares, even hundreds of thousands of hectares.
