JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Director General of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, denied that there were any issues rare cooking oil in the market.
Oke said, what became a riot and was sought after by the community was cheap cooking oil that was in accordance with the provisions of the Highest Retail Price (HET).
“This cooking oil is not rare, it’s only available that the problem that is demanded in the community is which cooking oil costs Rp. 14,000, which is Rp. 13,500, and which is Rp. 11,500,” said Oke in a virtual discussion: Cooking Oil Is Getting Gone More Magical, Tuesday (8/3/2022).

“So if you want to look for cooking oil, it actually exists, if you look for expensive cooking oil everywhere, it’s there, there must be one but what’s noisy is where the cheap cooking oil is,” continued Okay.
Okay, explaining in principle the cooking oil currently circulating is cooking oil that has been categorized as cheap. Because, since February 14, 2022 yesterday, they have distributed 377 million liters of cheap cooking oil.
The Ministry of Home Affairs revealed that the distribution of cooking oil has been carried out in 34 provinces in the country.
It’s just admitted that OK, the distribution system and the flow of cooking oil are the obstacles because there are bad people who hoard cooking oil.
“This irrigation is not running smoothly, if it is illustrated that the flow actually goes to the villages, even to the city, there is also a distribution flow or the irrigation can be opened in small pieces, yes, this means nimbun language,” said Okay.

Okay also said, the distribution of cooking oil to get to the people has many processes.
Then the problem, he said, has not yet reached the final consumer, in fact there are individuals who enter to play with prices.
“It’s not over yet, but the Highest Retail Price (HET) has been played,” said Okay.
Therefore, Oke said, the government will hold a direct people’s market with bulk cooking oil priced at Rp. 11,500 per liter.
“This is what we prioritized so that we could reduce pressure on modern retail while tidying up the distribution flow, both prices and irrigations,” he concluded.
