Earlier this week, the former Bayern Munich defender, also the former German national team defender, Jerome Boateng was sentenced to pay 1.8 million euros (18.3 million kronor) for having abused his ex-girlfriend. He risked imprisonment, but in the end the sentence was fined.
Now Jerome Boateng’s big brother, Kevin-Prince Boateng (midfielder, Hertha Berlin) is furious in an interview with the German newspaper Bild.
– I appreciate and respect German law, and I despise violence against women. My brother’s actions are reprehensible and I do not want anything to do with him, he says to Bild and continues:
– I have already broken with Jerome and it was a long time since we had contact.
The incident for which Jerome Boateng was convicted is said to have taken place during a holiday trip in 2018, where he is said to have bitten his ex-girlfriend, among other things. He has consistently denied the allegations, but was convicted despite denial this week.
