The production commented
Pekka Lehtinen, who also works as the producer in charge of the program, opens up to Iltalehte about the role of the criminals in question in the program. He says that basically Crime scene has been a program where people from all over the world of criminal justice are heard.
– This is not Police TV, but different people get to speak. Whether they are criminals, police officers or other authorities, Lehtinen states.
The role of each well-known criminal in the program is to present their own “pranks” and solutions to current crime topics.
– These are all well-known faces who present their own opinion on a problem in the criminal justice world and on a question we ask.

In general, rustling means slandering through humor. According to Lehtinen, that is not the issue in this context.
– It is not in itself a question of defamation. There may be an issue or a theme to which they may present something with a little twinkle in their eye. I mean a twinkle in the eye in a way that they may have been guilty of the same thing over the years. But by no means that they say everything with a twinkle in their eye, says the producer in charge.
He emphasizes that the target of rusting is not individual persons.
– Se [kohde] can be some theme of the criminal or legal world, about which they can share their own strong opinion or view. I’m just saying, for example, that if someone wants to rust out a street gang, then they will do it, says Lehtinen.
Have you instructed ex-criminals what they are allowed to say in the sections, so as not to cause harm to the victims of the crimes being dealt with or their relatives?
– We have separately defined all the themes for which we have asked them for opinions and solutions. The episodes have been recorded in advance and we know what’s coming, Lehtinen answers.
– There is nothing there that anyone needs to worry about. It is certainly not going to happen that the victims of crimes will be killed. There’s nothing in them that we can’t drive out, he guarantees.
Timo Jarvinen
“No danger”
According to Lehtinen, the program is not a danger for criminals to get into the spotlight in the wrong way. As experienced experts, they are involved in talking about topics related to the prison world or crime.
– The things they say are interesting and even those opinions or views are worth listening to.
According to Lehtinen, the still partly unexecuted judgments have not affected the program’s production decisions.
– We wanted two current prisoners and then one ex-prisoner. It was our own decision that we wanted such a group of three.
Lehtinen says that there is relatively little feedback from the show’s viewers about interviewing criminals or appearing on the show.
– Considering how much criminals are interviewed, there has been very little negative feedback. Of course, something can happen sometimes, Lehtinen says.
– It doesn’t mean that even a criminal can sometimes have something important to say. Yes, you have to listen to them too, to get an overall picture of the matter. And it may be worth listening, and not always just to the authorities’ point of view.
The producer-journalist explains that the program has also featured people convicted of crimes in the past, such as former members of Cannonball Mika “Immu” Ilmen and now deceased Marko Lönnqvist.
– I emphasize that Crime scene is a crime program where people from all over the world are heard, and we don’t see any bigger problem in it, Lehtinen adds.
In the first episode of the season, old criminal cases are dealt with, the murder of a jogging girl from Pori from 2015. The investigation of the case in question is opened and, in addition, shootings in public places are discussed.
The crime scene continues on Wednesday 18 September. at 22:35 on MTV3 channel and MTV Katsomo. See all program information and broadcast times on Telku.
