The father, aged 47, has just spent seventeen months in pre-trial detention. He was arrested in Thionville in May 2022 following a complaint filed by his ex-partner. She accuses him of rape and sexual assault on one of their two sons. Dad’s phone was seized. Investigators found sexual photos featuring other children, connections to dating and discussion sites on which he posed as a little girl, on which he exchanged and received these photos.
A judicial investigation has been opened. The investigating judge finally dismissed the case regarding the sexual assault and the incestuous rape reported by the mother. On the other hand, the father is being prosecuted for possession and distribution of child pornography images.
History
“When I looked at these photos, I did not see the child, I did not see the human,” said the defendant presented to the Thionville criminal court on Tuesday afternoon. Small, short hair, arms tight around his chest, he wears glasses, jeans and a long-sleeved gray t-shirt. He admits the offenses with which he is accused. This is not the first time he has had to explain this. “I have always felt an attraction to very young girls of 10 years old,” he confirms.
His record has two entries. The first dates back to 2002 for a sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor. “It was in a campsite,” says the defendant. He kissed a kid in the next tent. “She woke up, she screamed, I ran away. » Twenty years later, in 2022, he was sentenced for the same acts against a second cousin and for possession of images of minors of a sexual nature. His family life was shattered.
A chemical treatment
“Today, I manage to fight these attractions,” he promises. But this summer, during his pre-trial detention, photos of children, of little girls, cut out from a TV magazine were found in his cell. “I used it to masturbate,” replied the defendant. Since then, he has been following treatment prescribed by the psychiatrist, injections which block the libido. “I feel better, I feel free from all that,” he explains on the stand.
The court sentences the defendant to two years in prison and to five years of socio-judicial monitoring which includes treatment orders. If he deviates, he faces an additional two years in prison. Finally, he will be prohibited from carrying out any activity in contact with minors for ten years. The forty-year-old is registered in the file of perpetrators of sexual offenses.
The name of the accused is not communicated in order to protect minor victims.
