An airplane of the state company Conviasa took to Antigua and Barbuda a batch of 20,000 vaccines from Sinopharm against the coronavirus. The doses were donated by China.
The transfer procedure was performed as part of the agreement between Banco del Alba and Conviasa airline. The information was published and confirmed on the Twitter of Misión Verdad, in which they presented images of the transfer.
In the photos, workers can be seen uploading containers of Chinese vaccines to the Conviasa plane, as well as employees of the Banco del Alba.
It is not the first time that this type of operation has been carried out between the bank and the airline. Previously it was announced that through a special Conviasa flight from Havana, 28 Cuban collaborating doctors they arrived in Antigua and Barbuda. Another 16 collaborating professionals also traveled to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The trip was made with in order to support in the detection, care, prevention and containment measures deployed in those nations to face the coronavirus pandemic.
