Messaging application WhatsApp, which has approximately 1.6 billion users worldwide, has announced a new feature for people who change phones.
Whatsapp said conversation history can be moved from IOS to Android.
With the feature announced on the official website, it was reported that people who change phones can transfer their chat history from one operating system to another.
With the feature covering voice messages, photos and videos, millions of users will be able to easily transfer their messages from IOS devices to Android devices.
Whatsapp’s announcement is as follows:
“Your WhatsApp messages belong to you. That’s why your personal WhatsApp messages are protected with end-to-end encryption and we offer ways to automatically disappear your messages from your chats.
One of the most sought after features we offer is making it possible to transfer chat history from one operating system to another when switching phones. We are working hard with operating system and device manufacturers to build this feature securely and reliably.
We’re excited to introduce the ability to migrate your WhatsApp history from iOS to Android. This migration includes voice messages, photos and videos before your messages are sent to WhatsApp. Initially available on any Samsung device running Android 10 or higher, this feature will soon be available on more Android devices.
When you set up a new device, you will have the option to securely transfer your chats from your old device to your new device. A USB-C to Lightning cable will be required for this process.
This is just the beginning. We look forward to launching this option so more people can switch between their preferred platforms and take their chats with them safely.”
