According to reports The New ArabSunday (27/10/2024), the attack was aimed near the capital of Iran; Tehran, as well as the southwestern provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam. The report citing Israeli media also said the attack lasted several hours and involved more than 100 Israeli fighter jets, including F-35 stealth aircraft, as well as F- 16s and F-15s.

The first wave of attacks targeted Iran’s radar and air defense facilities, with military facilities, missiles and drones targeted in the second and third waves.

The Iranian military initially announced that two soldiers were killed in the attack. However, Tasnim News updated the death toll to four soldiers.
A senior US official said the US did not participate in the broad, precision strikes, but was working with the Israeli government to push low-risk attacks without causing civilian casualties.
“The effect is a proportional self-defense response. The effect is to deter future attacks and reduce Iran’s ability to launch future attacks,” said the officer.
Israeli military officials said the attack was called off several times because of the weather, and said they must have the right climatic conditions to attack Iran.
“The attack hit surface-to-air missile batteries, air systems and missile manufacturing facilities,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
