Controversy Surrounds Christophe Galtier’s Accusations of Racism and Islamophobia in Nice Football Club

This is the case that has been shaking French football for a few days. And that resonates as far as Nice.

For a little over 24 hours, Christophe Galtier has had to juggle a heavy controversy following the serious accusations of Julien Fournier, his former manager in Nice, in an email sent to INEOS. Accused of racism and Islamophobia during his Nice adventure, Christophe Galtier strongly denied and now finds himself back to the wall, while PSG is investigating to clarify this affair.

This case, raised after a tense return from Galtier to Nice last Saturday during the victory of PSG, in any case confirmed the very clear fractures between the coach and the people of Nice still present at the club. With Didier Digard, the relationship would be execrable since the now Nice coach “secretly hates” Galtier as Nice Matin assured.

And with the players, it’s just as tense. The most striking example is that of Jean-Clair Todibo who did not go far from crossing the limit last Saturday. According to Nice Matin, after the victory of PSG and the chambering of Galtier towards the South turn following the banner aimed at him, Todibo would have “restrained himself from jumping at the throat of his former coach”. A coach “for whom he will never play again” and whom he finally preferred “to snub politely rather than to make a mistake”.
