Controversy Surrounding Wendy Guevara’s Victory in La Casa de los Famosos México: Karla Sofía Gascón’s Dissent

Wendy Guevara’s victory in La Casa de los Famosos México has been celebrated by many people and members of the LGBTTTIQ community, but the transgender actress Karla Sofía Gascón does not agree so much with them.

Karla Sofía Gascón, who participated in the Mexican film Nosotros los Noble, by director Gary Alazraki, repudiated Wendy Guevara’s participation in the Televisa-Univisión reality show and the use of the LGBT+ identity.

“I don’t give a damn who wins #LCDLFMEXICO #LACASADELOXXO #LTIENDADELF whatever it’s called. I don’t know who Wendy or Windy or Wondy is… what’s more, I’m fed up… with marketing, with communities and with the abuse of the use of certain characters and media by LGBT TRANS to obtain relevance”, expressed the trans actress on Twitter.

Gascón suffered several negative responses from some users of the social network, who called her “envious” for not having received the same appreciation, recognition and support from the LGBT+ community during her participation in MasterChef Celebrity Mexico, TV Azteca program.

“I have nothing to do with those people. I have no affinity with any, none or none, nor do I identify myself. I neither like what they do nor what they say nor do I believe them. Just like I didn’t believe so many who were by my side. Please: stop comparing me.

”I precisely want to put an end to certain stereotypes that so many carry as a flag and that do so much damage. I repeat: being LGBT does not remove the pend… nor does it make you be more or less. (Save the easy joke.) Someday I will tell what they offered me recently… I’ll leave it there,” replied the Spanish actress.

Who is Karla Sofía Gascón?

Carlos Gascón is the birth name of Karla Sofía Gascón, a Spanish transgender actress.

Gascón is remembered for his participation in the Mexican film Nosotros los Noble, by director Gary Alazraki, in which he played ‘Peter’, the Spanish boyfriend of ‘Bárbara Noble’ (Karla Souza).

The Spanish actor began his career in Mexico in 2009 playing ‘Branko’ in the telenovela Corazón Salvaje. Later he worked in other Televisa productions such as Full of love and Until the end of the world.

In 2016 she returned to Spain, where she underwent a change of identity and called herself Karla Sofía Gascón, at the age of 45.

The now Spanish actress has been criticized in networks for making this transformation despite having a young daughter, however, she has responded that more should be said about this topic to avoid taboos.

Karla Sofía Gascón wrote a book entitled ‘Karsia: an extraordinary story’ in which she recounts the story of her conversion.

“To so many thousands, I say, millions, that their mouths fill with loving this Wendy so much, (who knows where they were when she had to dedicate herself to working on the corners) I invite you to help all women that there are trans in their neighborhoods to be given work in their shops, to be taken out of the sewers of society, to be caught and supported by associations that defend them, to vote for inclusive parties and for laws that dignify”, the actress commented on Instagram after Wendy Guevara’s triumph in ‘La Casa de los Famosos México’.
