Controversy Surrounding the Marriage of Malaysian Actress Angeline Tan and Director Sabri Yunus

Jakarta

Malaysian actress Angeline Tan is married to director Sabri Yunus. Their marriage was in the spotlight, because the two had been friends for a long time. Sabrina had also converted to Islam before the marriage took place.

Unfortunately, the marriage of the Malaysian celebrity couple was deemed invalid by a cleric named Sheikh Nuruddin Marbu Al Banjari. As quoted from Astro Awani, in a recent lecture, Sheikh Nuruddin said that the couple married by religious expert Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin did not fulfill his qabul or was considered invalid.

Sheikh Nuruddin also claimed that the two of them were now committing adultery because of the marriage which was not in accordance with their religion.
Sabri and Angeline admitted they were disappointed with the cleric’s accusations. According to the 62-year-old director, the marriage agreement was legal.

“It is important to realize that there are various interpretations in religious schools that lead to validity and invalidity,” he said[ Sabri di Facebooknya.
