Controversy surrounding student’s 4% result in general secondary school exams sparks investigation

The Ministry of Education and Technical Education had denied the validity of the publications circulated on social media about some students from specific families obtaining high percentages in the general secondary exams.

Shadi Zalta, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, stated that all the names of the students circulated do not exist in the list of names of students who took the general secondary exams for the academic year 2022/2023.

The official spokesman stated that Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, directed at the beginning of the school year not to make any transfers of high school students, whether from one educational administration to another or from one educational directorate to another, except through a committee in the ministry.

The spokesperson warned against circulating these publications that aim to stir up confusion, mislead public opinion, and cast doubt on all efforts made to ensure the exit of the examination system in a way that achieves the principle of justice and equal opportunities.

In the interest of the Ministry to clarify all the facts, the official spokesman denied what was raised about amending the result of the student, Islam Ahmed Omar, a student in the high school stage at the Martyr Osama Saeed Fathallah Joint Secondary School in the Menoufia Governorate, as the student tried to view her result in the beginning through one of the unknown links on The social networking site “Facebook”, which is not recognized in obtaining the high school result, then I reviewed its result again on the official website of the Ministry, and with careful review, it was proven that the result I obtained was a total of 278.5 degrees.

The official spokesman stated that Dr. Reda Hegazy directed that the student Islam submit a grievance to see her answer papers to ensure the validity of her results.
