Controversy Surrounding Second Season of Iveta Miniseries: Critics Slam Script and Factual Errors, Familiar Faces Bash Voyo’s Production

The second season of the successful miniseries Iveta lifted many of the fans and friends of Iveta Bartošová out of their seats. Some criticize the gaps in the script, the choice of actors and even complain that the show produced by Voyo dishonors the singer and other famous faces. Without napkins, Karl Gott’s former secretary Jan Adam also leaned into the Iveta miniseries on the social network.

The second season of the Iveta miniseries is considerably more controversial than the first. It discusses the not-quite-idyllic relationship between Iveta Bartošová and Ladislav Štaidl, as well as the singer’s alleged kidnapping, which Roman Tříska was supposed to have staged in the 1990s. And while in the first series the audience mainly criticized the fact that the actors did not resemble the real characters, now they also criticize the script.

I’m glad they didn’t live to see it

Among those who really knew Iveta Bartošová, Karel Gott’s former secretary Jan Adam has now spoken on the social network. He wrote how angry the second season of the miniseries made him. “I’m glad that Iveta, Karel and Láďa didn’t live to see how director and screenwriter Michal Samir terribly retold their life story in the Iveta miniseries. He messed up what he could,” Jan Adam wrote angrily, adding that, among other things, he was extremely annoyed by the factual errors in the script.

“Events that took place in the 1980s (e.g. Iveta’s introduction to the world of show business by Karl, Ládi’s departure from Karl) were transferred to the 90s in an absolutely inappropriate, emotionless and violent way,” wrote Jan Adam. He also complained about the choice of music that underlines various scenes in the series. “I was seriously almost losing my mind. The poor must be turning in their graves! Don’t look at it! A waste of your valuable time!” he told his supporters in conclusion.

Štaidl’s ex-wife also curses

Many of Jan Adam’s supporters stated under his post that they had not seen the miniseries about the life of Iveta Bartošová and had no plans to. The spouses Eva Hrušková and Jan Přeučil also belong to them. “We’re not looking,” they wrote.

On the other hand, Ladislav Štaidl’s ex-wife Aňa Štaidlová did not miss the continuation. Apparently, she was curious about how the creators portrayed her ex-husband, played by Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý. And she wasn’t thrilled either. “It’s kind of a farce,” she wrote.
