Controversy Surrounding Nurlan Saburov’s Event Cancellations and Ticket Sales Refunds

As a result of criticism from the public and Ukrainian diplomats and community representatives living in the US, several planned demonstrations were boycotted or canceled indefinitely.

The event planned for “ATTA Center” on March 3 is organized by a legal entity registered in Georgia “I/E Raimonds S.”, as indicated in the ticket sales platform “Ticketshop”.

Nurlan’s visit to Riga was already planned for 2020. This event was postponed four times from 15.02.20, 28.04.20. and 21.08.20. on 10.10.2020 In the end, the event did not take place.

“Bilešu Serviss” added a long explanation to the last postponement announcement about the uncertainties that haunted the planned exhibition in 2020.

The company received information about the initiation of the liquidation process and the appointment of the liquidator of the organizer of the event, SIA “Swiss Beauty”.

Before starting the liquidation, “Biļešu Serviss”, “Swiss Beauty” and SIA “EZ MEDIA” concluded a 3-party agreement to take over the obligations for the event. The agreement provided that SIA “EZ MEDIA” will take over the obligations of SIA “Swiss Beauty” and actually become the new organizer of the event.

However, a member of the board of SIA “EZ MEDIA” approached “Biļešu Servisa” with a submission, stating that the 3-party agreement on the assumption of obligations is invalid, because he did not sign it and the signature is forged.

SIA “EZ Media” did not recognize itself as the organizer of the event, but “Biļešu Serviss” did not receive information that SIA “Swiss Beauty” had found a successor who would be ready to organize the event.

“Biļešu Serviss” warned that there is a high possibility that the event will not take place, noting that the organizer of the event is responsible for the conduct of the event, including the refund of the ticket value in case of event cancellation. Biļešu Serviss, on the other hand, is only a ticket seller (on behalf of the event organizers) and all sales revenue is the funds of the event organizer.

At the same time, in the section of Nurlan Saburov’s website about the postponed performances, information is still expressed that “the event in Riga, which was supposed to take place at the ATTA Center, was canceled. The tickets for this event were sold by the company Biļešu Serviss, which currently refuses to return the money to customers, justifying this with the financial responsibility of the local organizers.”

Other countries where the comedian’s performances have been canceled are also mentioned. No intelligent information has been mentioned on the comedian’s websites about this year’s event.
