Social media users were surprised, a short while ago, by the closure of the artist Bayoumi Fouad’s official Facebook account.
Masrawy has not yet been able to verify whether the artist Bayoumi Fouad was the one who closed his account after the wave of anger and attack he was subjected to, or whether it was the Facebook administration that closed it.
The official account of the artist, Bayoumi Fouad, lost one million followers since the beginning of the attack he was subjected to, as the page was followed by 9 million and 900 thousand followers, reaching 8 million and 900 thousand followers before it was closed.
Bayoumi Fouad sparked a state of controversy among his followers on social media after his recent statements following the presentation of one of the nights of the play “Artificial Marriage,” during which some indicated that he was directing his speech to the artist Mohamed Salam after the latter’s apology for the play.
Bayoumi Fouad’s statements, which caused a state of anger towards him, were as follows: “You have the right to apologize for the play, but you do not have the right to make mistakes in your art. We are not coming to laugh. We are presenting our Egyptian art. You respect us and we respect you very much.”
While the artist Muhammad Salam apologized for the play a few days before it was scheduled to be shown during the Riyadh season in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he was replaced by the artist Muhammad Anwar.
The play “Artificial Marriage” was shown from October 30 to November 4, at the Muhammad Al-Ali Theater in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“Artificial Marriage” revolves around a couple who are exposed to a crisis on their wedding night, and are forced to turn to an expert in romantic relationships. They are then subjected to a modern experiment using artificial intelligence, which makes them rethink their entire marriage project. Co-starring was Mai Ezz El-Din, Bayoumi Fouad, Mohamed Anwar, Iman El-Sayed, Donia Sami, and a number of artists.
