Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Rans Nusantara Manager Hamka Hamzah raise your voice about the Persija Jakarta player’s goal Witan Sulaeman which was not approved by the referee in the continuation of League 1, Sunday (22/10).
Rans won 2-1 over Persija at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi. However, Rans’ victory was marred by controversy because Witan Sulaeman’s goal in injury time was not approved by the referee.
Hamka gave an objective comment in response to Witan’s goal in injury time. According to Hamka, this controversy would not have occurred if Indonesia implemented VAR (Video Assistant Referee).
“Our football is very urgent and needs VAR. As I always say, all teams will definitely be disadvantaged by the referee’s decisions,” wrote Hamka on Instagram.
“Therefore, VAR really helps the referee to make important decisions,” added the former Persija player.
Witan was actually Persija’s savior to avoid defeat at home. This was after he managed to break into Rans’ goal during injury time in the second half.
Witan’s hard kick from inside the penalty box clearly went into the goal and then bounced back out of Rans’ goal. Referee Naufal Adya Fairuski and the linesman missed this moment and Witan’s goal was disallowed.
As a result, the Kemayoran Tigers failed to equalize. Persija, who acted as host, had to recognize Rans’ superiority with a score of 1-2.
