Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Ace Hasan Syadzily assessed the statement by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto which mentioned social assistance (social assistance) is assistance from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is not wrong. Because Ace said it would be a problem if Airlangga mentioned it social assistance from the Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
Ace conveyed this in the presidential election dispute hearing at the Constitutional Court building, Central Jakarta, Thursday (4/4/2024). Ace provided testimony as a witness from Prabowo-Gibran.
Ace explained that he often accompanied Airlangga when distributing social assistance. This, he said, was to ensure that the food aid program was distributed to the community.
“There is Bulog there, there is the National Food Agency. But there is no Ministry of Social Affairs (when distributing social assistance). In our capacity, of course there we are as leaders of Commission VIII and party cadres,” said Ace.
According to him, what Airlangga said was correct if the social assistance distributed was assistance from Jokowi. Because, he said, it would be inappropriate if the social assistance was mentioned as assistance from Airlangga, who is also the General Chair of the Golkar Party.
“Of course, I think Mr Airlangga’s statement is correct. Instead of Mr Airlangga stating that this was assistance from the Coordinating Minister, it is even more inappropriate, especially since he is the chairman of the party, it will be considered politicization for the Golkar party,” he explained.
“So, therefore, what we need to emphasize is that the program that Mr. Airlangga conveyed is also appropriate because the President, as the head of state, has been the one who has had the initiative to take the highest policies,” he added.
