The ball has been rolling again in the Bundesliga since last weekend, the international leagues started a week earlier. And in the 2. Bundesliga and the 3. Liga, the third matchday was already on the schedule. In short: the new season is officially in full swing.

For many fans, a new season includes not only what happens on the pitch but also what happens on the virtual pitch. The EA Sports FC series, formerly known as FIFA, has been the most popular among Germans for years.

EA FC 25: Ratings for the new game leaked

The latest offshoot, EA FC 25, is set to be officially released on September 27th. That is at least true for the standard version. This year, there is also an Ultimate Edition. Anyone who pre-ordered it by August 20th can start playing on September 20th.

Regardless of the split release, EA FC 25 is already casting its shadow before its release. On Sunday evening, a large number of player ratings were leaked.

A list of 50 players who received the best overall ratings in the new part is circulating on X. At the top are four professionals with a rating of 91: Rodri and Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Kylian Mbappé from Real Madrid and Aitana Bonmatí from FC Barcelona as the best-rated woman.

Irritation about ratings of ter Stegen and Gündoğan at EA FC 25

As in the past, there are all sorts of discussions about the ratings. But three players stand out, two of them are German.

Take Marc-André ter Stegen, for example. The FC Barcelona goalkeeper, who will probably be the new number one in the German national team after Manuel Neuer’s retirement from the DFB, was given a strong rating of 89. No other goalkeeper is better this year.

Many people cannot understand this after his rather mixed preseason. “How can ter Stegen keep getting an 89?”asks one bewildered user. Another jokingly refers to a parade from 2015, which objectively speaking should not play a role in the current evaluation.

İlkay Gündoğan also appears among the top 50 players in EA FC 25, improving from a rating of 86 to 87. “How could Gündoğan get an upgrade?” asks one user, using numerous tear-jerking laughing emojis.

EA FC 25: Liverpool star van Dijk is listed as goalkeeper

The biggest laugh, however, is not for a German, but for Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman, who plays for Liverpool FC, has been one of the absolute world elite for years. It is therefore not surprising that he also appears in the chart for the 50 best players, and with a score of 89 he is also among the elite here.

However, Van Dijk is not listed as a central defender, but incorrectly as a goalkeeper. It is a mistake that has not gone unnoticed by the fans. “The best keeper of all time,” jokes one user.

Or does EA perhaps know more than we do? With a height of 1.95 meters, van Dijk would be predestined for the role of goalkeeper, and he has already tried it out in training.
