Controversy Over New Online Hunting License Exam Process in St-Pierre and Miquelon

The Federation of Hunters of St-Pierre and Miquelon contacted the prefecture at the start of the year concerning the new conditions for examining hunting licenses.

Registrations for thehunting license exam is now done online which complicates the process and lengthens the deadlines depending on the federation.

The examiner from the French Biodiversity Office travels to the archipelago for a week and candidates from Saint-Pierre must go to Miquelon for a day to complete the practical and theoretical test.

In the event of failure, this new computerized system no longer allows you to retry the exam the same day. The unsuccessful candidate will therefore have to schedule a new trip during the week to try their luck again.

This situation greatly displeases the Hunters’ Federation, which contacted the prefect of the archipelago at the start of the year. For its part, the prefecture claims to have contacted the OFB in mainland France to try to find solutions.
