In front of the main gate of the National Assembly, a banner that read, ‘This Party Comes to Me’ was posted.
This is a new campaign launched by the Democratic Party of Korea ahead of the general election, targeting young people in their 20s and 30s to stimulate curiosity.
The slogans on the banner included “I don’t know about politics, but I want to live well” and “I don’t know about the economy, but I want to have a lot of money.”
The explanation is that the intention is to change into a ‘Democratic Party that is useful to me’ by valuing individuality and diversity.
However, it caused controversy that the banner meant for the youth was rather degrading to the youth.

″This phrase just makes people in their 20s and 30s think that they are stupid in general. It seems like they are looking at something like an idiot… ″
Even among party members, there were continued criticisms such as “Didn’t anyone feel strange when they saw that phrase?” and “It was a mockery of the MZ generation.”
Criticism also poured in from Democratic lawmakers.
In the group chat room of lawmakers, comments were made that “It is blind populism that gives up the values and goals of the Democratic Party,” “We cannot agree that the Democratic Party aims for this kind of society,” and “It is easier to be misunderstood than to accept.”
Others continued to point out that “it is a problem for such matters to be handled simply as official documents,” and that “posting should be delayed until the final decision.”
The Democratic Party’s non-Japanese community group publicly criticized, saying, “We need to find out the truth about how the low-level content was decided to be a promotional material,” and “The general election planning team should immediately apologize to the public and party members, and the person responsible should resign.”
Representative Han Jun-ho, who chairs the Public Relations Committee, expressed his position to the lawmakers, saying, “I am sorry that part of the teaser advertisement was leaked and caused confusion.”
The Democratic Party took action to correct the draft, saying it was leaked and could be modified.

″We are literally in the process of collecting various opinions, and if there is something that needs to be modified, we will do so.″
The People Power Party pointed out, “The Democratic Party should apologize for belittling the young generation as ignorant and selfish, and introduce good policies as the majority party should.”
