Reilly Opelka, the American giant, won his third ATP title by beating his compatriot Jenson Brooksby (7-6, 7-6) in the final of the Dallas tournament.
Successful week? In part, only. The joy of the coronation was tempered by a fine imposed by the ATP after the closing ceremony of the tournament.
The reason ? Reilly Opelka has decided to… keep his cap. “Mr. Opelka chose to keep his hat on during the prize presentation ceremony”, thus justified the ATP (“Mr. Opelka chose to keep his hat on during the prize-giving ceremony”).
The American giant shared a photo of the sanction on Twitter. With a comment (“Too good, ATP”) full of irony that leaves no doubt about what he thinks of the sanction.
