This February 19, Caribana took the floor to announce the deprogramming of rapper Koba LaD, on June 20, after having caused an uproar by relaying on social networks the approval of a homophobic infanticide. “Caribana is a festival that loves everyone. It is not the only event to have made this decision. Indeed, We Love Green in Paris, the Main Square Festival in Arras, the Garorock de Marmande and the Dour Festival in Belgium have all canceled its visit.

As a reminder, the 19-year-old rapper had relayed on his Snapchat account the screenshot of a press article titled: “This father kills his own 14-year-old son because he was gay”. This image was accompanied by an emoji of two hands clasping and the legend “Well done”. Arousing many reactions, condemnation, but also approval, on social networks.
In two videos on his social networks, the rapper tried to defend himself. “I am not homophobic, each for himself, god for all … I do not condone murder at all, nor the gay child, nothing to do, off topic, it is a misunderstanding. It should be noted that the screen (note: the screen) hands that shake, the well done, it was not me who marked it, ”we can first see. Koba LaD specifies to have shared this capture in his “dark” (his high, a reference to drugs, editor’s note).
He says he is “badly expressed”
Then, in a second filmed sequence, he said that he had “expressed badly”, before adding: “I do not endorse the murder. After the gay child frankly … each for himself, god for all, here, there I am on vacation, stop taking my head “.
The rapper’s album “the freed” was a platinum disc (equivalent to 100,000 sales). Koba LaD has close to two million followers on her Instagram account.
