Autumn’s most beautiful adventure is well under way, and TV viewers are now following a bunch of celebrities on a trip to various nooks and crannies of our country. “71 degrees north – Norway’s toughest celebrity” has so far offered both challenges and mastery for the participants, but in Thursday’s episode there is one thing some of the participants react to.
Admits: – Unfair
Team Nordkapp and team Lindesnes move towards a new stage – where two animals await the team that comes first.
– It is like that sometimes in “71” that you get a choice, the one who arrives first can choose between, in this case, going forward with a dog or a pony, says Anne Rimmen (42) to Dagbladet.

– Annoyed
It was the Nordkapp team that arrived first, and thus got to choose which animal they wanted to take with them next.
– They chose a dog, and then we had to take the pony – plain and simple. Then we move on and see that we’ve caught up with them quite a bit, and eventually realize that maybe it’s because they chose the wrong animal then, so to speak. Because that dog laid down, and wasn’t too concerned that it was a competition.

When team Lindesnes see any hope of being able to catch up with their opponents, they get the message from production – they have to wait.
– Sometimes you have to wait because of various production considerations, but here it actually felt like we had to wait because they had chosen the wrong animal. Because it wouldn’t go.

Rimmen’s teammate, Terje Sporsem (47), tells Dagbladet that they were simply not allowed to go past team Nordkapp.
– We were behind there for quite a long time and just have to wait until this dog gets on. We were quite annoyed, because it was a choice they made. What would have happened if they chose the horse? Had they had to stop and wait for us, and deal with that dog? he asks himself.
Dramatic: – Blood flows from the face
Chosen wrong
– Was the production open about the fact that it was about the dog?
– Yes, or… at that point everyone started to get tired and we became almost conspiratorial because we felt there were so many things going against us. As you do when you lose. So it’s like that when you’re there you get very fired up every now and then, but that’s because we’re dedicated and want to win, says Sporsem and adds:
MISTAKE: Several of the participants in “71 degrees north – celebrity” reacted after they were told after walking for 45 minutes that they had to start the stage again. The production responds to the criticism. Video: Rød Løper/TVNorge/Discovery+ Show more
– We didn’t want anyone on the team to have to go home. That’s why we get involved.
He points out that the irritation passed as quickly as it arose – and that he does not wear any sour faces.
– I do not care
– But at the moment it felt terribly unfair.
The rhyme, on the other hand, says that it is often an advantage to be able to choose animals first, but that in this case it was an advantage for team Lindesnes not to be able to choose.
– The first team probably made the wrong choice, she says and continues:
DIFFICULT DOG: This is the dog that caused trouble for team Nordkapp. Photo: Matti Bernitz/TVNorge Show more
– And you can see in the episode that this is the case. That dog would rather go the other way, or lie down. And it wasn’t a tiny little dog they had, it was a big St. Bernhard. When it decides to lie down, it doesn’t matter how strong you are or how stubborn you are, you can’t shake it with physical strength.
– Bit strange
– Do you think you would have caught up with team Nordkapp if you hadn’t been told to wait?
– Yes, yes. Yes, I’m pretty sure of that, states Rimmen.

Sporsem explains that the team as a whole became “disappointed and angry” because the other team’s choice went beyond them.
– We really felt it then and there. There and then we were quite irritated, he says and adds:
– Not allowed to sell underwear
– I am concerned that things should be fair, and when it is not felt to be fair in that situation, you become very involved in what is happening. The one and only world we have there and then, that’s the trip. We felt it was very unfair.
When asked if Rimmen was annoyed, she replies:
BIRTHDAY: Kevin Lauren had a birthday during the recording of “71 degrees north – celebrity”, and received a special birthday present in the tent. Video: Rød Løper/TVNorge/Discovery+ Show more
– Yes, I certainly was. It’s been a while, but yes – we were kind of in a race all the time, and when you see the opportunity to catch up with the other team, you want to. When you are then told to wait, it feels… a bit strange.
Dagbladet has been in contact with TVNorge’s press contact, Marianne Aambø, who has the following to say about the matter:
Reveals its greatest advantage
– We understand that the participants get frustrated, they are, after all, in a competitive situation. In this case, the participants were asked to stop for the sake of the animals we had with us on the stage.
She continues:
ANSWERS: Anne Marit “AnneMa” Yuvali retired historically early from “71 degrees north – celebrity”, and there have been different reactions afterwards. Now she responds to the feedback. Reporter: Jonas Scheie Hammer. Video: Kine Falch / Discovery+ Show more
– We have a strong focus on animal welfare when we take animals on trips and this was a planned stop. One team had a dog that had many stops along the way, while those with the pony had to take a planned stop to give the pony a rest.
