Controversy Erupts Between Arsenal and Chelsea Coaches After League Cup Final

It was when the coaches were to thank each other for the match that the somewhat strange scene occurred.

Arsenal’s Swedish coach Jonas Eidevall extended his hand and so did Emma Hayes – before she suddenly chose to push her colleague away.

She then appeared to say a few well-chosen words and point her finger, after which Eidevall looked questioning.

– There is a way to behave on the sideline, Hayes said after the match according to the British The Athletic.

– It is very important that we are role models in the right way, I don’t like that male aggression where you bully yourself against players. It is unacceptable. I was disappointed and told Jonas. I don’t think it’s okay to behave that way.

– He got a yellow card and he probably would have been sent off. I’m all for being competitive. I have never received a warning in twelve years. I accept that he is a winner but his behavior was not acceptable.

Jonas Eidevall then responded to Hayes’ comments:

– I don’t think it’s particularly responsible to call it “male aggression”. I’m not comfortable with that. That’s not the truth, and I think it’s very irresponsible.

– People can listen to what I say and see what I do, it’s nothing out of the ordinary.

Victory in the League Cup final was Arsenal’s seventh in a row, and second in a row.

Stina Blackstenius’ 1-0 goal after 116 minutes of play secured the dent for “The Gunners”.
