Controversy Erupts as TikToker Claims ‘Saturday Night Live’ has Never Hired a ‘Hot Woman’

Has “Saturday Night Live” Neglected to Cast “Hot Women” in Its Core Ensemble?

In a surprising and controversial TikTok video that has recently gone viral, social media user Jahelis boldly claims that iconic sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” has never featured a “hot woman” as a regular cast member in its core ensemble, and the reactions to this bold statement have been less than empathetic.

Jahelis, while providing examples that some may argue are not accurate, states, “They all just kind of have looks that eventually grow on you,” referring to the cast members of “Saturday Night Live.” She specifically mentions current cast member Heidi Gardner, although she fumbles on her name in the video, erroneously using the term “skit” instead of “sketch” in her critique.

A Curious Blend of “Pretty” and “Dumb”?

Jahelis further claims in the video, “They make every sketch that she’s in—at least one sketch per episode she’s in—being like where she plays someone super hot and super dumb and the point of the joke is that she’s super pretty. And it always makes me laugh because, no offense to her, but she’s not that pretty.” These comments have ignited a fierce debate among fans of the show.

Defenses From the Cast

Not all cast members or fans agree with Jahelis’ critique. Both Chloe Troast and Sarah Sherman, who are part of the “Saturday Night Live” team, responded to the controversial statements.

Sarah Sherman, in a social media post, expressed her humorously self-deprecating response by saying, “Just found out I’m not hot. Please give me and my family space to grieve privately and uglily at this time.”

Chloe Troast, on the other hand, took a different approach. She shared the video on her Instagram account, along with a clip of herself singing Christina Aguilera’s empowering song “Beautiful” and subtly signaling her disagreement with Jahelis’s remarks.

The content creator, Jahelis, responded to the wave of backlash, saying, “I never expected that video to go viral. Had I known, I would’ve maybe articulated myself a little bit better. I was expecting to have a dialogue with my community, who is used to my unfiltered opinions that rarely come from a place of malice.”
