Controversy Erupts as PDIP Secretary General Likens Gibran to Truck Driver: Gerindra Reacts

Jakarta

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto put it like this Gibran Rakabuming Raka is running for vice president with the truck driver who had an accident at the Halim Toll Gate. Gerindra Vice President Habiburokhman criticized Hasto’s statement.

“We strongly condemn Brother Hasto’s statement. It seems very arrogant and full of hatred just because the candidate he supported lost,” said Habiburokhman when contacted, Saturday (30/3/2024).

Habiburokhman then gave Hasto a citizenship score. He gave Hasto a score of 11 out of 100.

“I give Hasto’s level of statesmanship 11 out of 100, which means very low,” he said.

According to Habiburokhman, by equating Gibran with the truck driver, it is the same as insulting the intelligence of the supporters of candidate pair number 2, Prabowo-Gibran. He meant that Hasto could be made a common enemy by Prabowo-Gibran supporters.

“Equating Mas Gibran with the teenage driver who crashed at Halim is the same as insulting the intelligence of Prabowo-Gibran voters, whose number is close to 100 million people. Don’t let the tens of millions of Prabowo-Gibran voters make Hasto a common enemy. In fact, he has always underestimated Gibran. was able to win the election very decisively,” he added.

Hasto likens Gibran to a truck driver

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto compared Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who was running for vice president, to a truck driver who had an accident at the Halim Toll Gate. Hasto believes that both of them are not old enough to deal with the existing problems.

Hasto conveyed this in the ‘Sing Waras Sing Menang’ discussion which was broadcast online, Saturday (30/3/2023). Hasto initially talked about the supremacy of law now being lost because of Gibran’s nomination as vice presidential candidate who defied the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Hasto assessed that maturity had not been achieved in this case. He then took an example, such as the truck driver who had an accident on the Halim toll road, who was 17 years old and did not have a driver’s license.

“Some time ago there was an accident with a 17 year old child, the truck driver apparently didn’t have a driver’s license, maturity in dealing with problems on the highway had not yet occurred, just because he hit a car he ran away because he had not yet reached maturity. Then he crashed and hit other cars,” he said.

Hasto considers this an example of being only results oriented. Hasto said that holding certain positions without an attitude of maturity that has not yet been achieved will be dangerous.

“This is an example of when people are only results-oriented. The aging process is ignored, this is also dangerous because maturity in holding certain positions, even for truck drivers, is dangerous,” he said.

“Especially in relation to managing a country as big as Indonesia with very complex problems, economic problems, social problems, geopolitical problems, poverty problems, educational problems, problems of religious egoism which are also often problems related to our spiritual mentality,” continued Hasto.

Hasto believes that Gibran is not old enough to handle this complex problem. According to him, anything that is not ideal will only create damage.

“Then in the midst of this a display emerged of how a president’s child whose age limit was not yet sufficient, the mayor was also only two years old, then got a preference,” he said.

“How do we educate our children, how can religious lessons be accepted, religious character education can be accepted, when there are things at the national level that cannot be a picture of an ideal, this is what will create that damage,” continued Hasto.
