Controversies Surrounding First Mass-Produced Tesla Cybertruck: Missing Doors and Body Mismatch

A photo of the first mass-produced Tesla Cybertruck electric car appeared on Twitter. Even this time, however, the futuristic pick-up did not avoid certain controversies.

After several years of anticipation and repeated postponements, Tesla can finally boast the first mass-produced Cybertruck model. The car company immortalized this significant moment in a commemorative photo, which was subsequently shared on Twitter. In the image, we can see an electric pickup truck surrounded by a team of smiling employees of the Texas Gigafactory. Was it necessary, however, to obscure the view of most of the body of the electric car with bodies in yellow vests? Well, probably yes.

Foreign media and observant users of social networks quickly drew attention to several shortcomings they noticed on the first production car. Firstly, the Cybertruck is completely missing the driver’s door for some reason, and secondly, the rear passenger side door doesn’t quite visibly match the rest of the body. The reason is still unknown.

Likewise, we still don’t have any specific specs or pricing. Tesla originally intended to produce Cybertruck models with one, two or three engines, which would have a range of 400 to 800 kilometers and whose price would start just under 40 thousand dollars (approximately 850 thousand crowns). Considerations of a four-motor arrangement were then added, with this version to be able to travel up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge. Either way, it’s still just speculation, given that you won’t find any official information on Tesla’s official website.

However, the first deliveries of the electric pickup are confirmed for the third quarter of this year, although full-scale serial production will begin in early 2024. Over time, the production volume could reportedly increase to 250,000 to 500,000 units per year, which is Musk’s rough estimate of sales.
