At 50 years old, Nelson Velásquez continues to be one of the most controversial vallenato artists, as if he were one of the youngest. One of the controversies that he has caused was when he had hair grafts, which left him with a curious appearance and the memes were immediate.

Some time later they began their discussions on social networks with the group known as La banda del 5. In an interview with the Dímelo King channel, the artist assured that the musical genre he represents needed new proposals from young people and not more of the same.

Immediately, one of the members of the quintet assured: “I say it publicly, that is a lot of arrogance from Nelson. A guy like Nelson should rather provide support to the generations that come in the process of musical growth… But we are making music and it is working for us.”

As if that were not enough, the digital content creator called ‘El Chimba TV’ stated that Nelson Velásquez’s music was only used to warn that a commercial establishment was going to close or that it was time to leave a party.

“People in the interior really like Nelson Velásquez, but on the coast, many times there are many nightclubs, with all due respect that he deserves, and some will tell me if it is a lie or truth, but they use the music of maestro Nelson Velásquez to throw out people. Because people… the party is over. No! I don’t take it out,” commented the influencer in a chat with Dímelo King.

Likewise, Nelson Velásquez responded to the criticism received and did so by uploading a video of his concert in Cartagena. “Listen, Dimelo King, look look, look, Cartagena, Cartagena, for those who say stupid things,” said the vocalist.

On September 5, the singer was involved in a traffic accident that took place in the municipality of Barbosa, Antioquia, between his vehicle and a motorcycle.

According to initial reports, the truck in which the celebrity was traveling was traveling in the left lane of the road, near the municipality’s main park. At that moment, a motorcycle appeared on the road, crashing in a spectacular manner.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the artist has crashed. In August 2021, he suffered a similar fatality when his personal driver was going through Brisas del Cauca and the car failed, losing the engine and going over the edge of an abyss.
