“Again, dancing isn’t the best part of what you do, but it’s not crazy. It’s going to be a bit lame. A bit cartoonish”.
That’s what “Shall we dance” judge Merete Lingjærde (61) said after she had seen TV profile Aslak Maurstad’s (31) dance during Saturday’s live broadcast, which co-judge Trine Dehli Cleve (62) also agreed with.
Therefore, the daughter is kept private
The feedback triggered a reaction from dance partner Marianne Sandaker, who chose to bow as a protest against the judge’s comment.
TV 2 mentioned the matter first.

– Spontaneous
During a press conference at the dance center on Wednesday, Sandaker explains the background to his reaction.
– I did it mostly because Aslak can get some “creds” for what he achieves, because he actually achieves quite a lot. We danced the Cha-cha-cha, and got a lot of steps that are iconic for this dance, she says and adds:
– To sit and say that it was a great show, but that he falls short in the dance – I think that is extremely unfair. So then a little “boo” spontaneously came out of me there.
– Can be bigger than the Beckhams
To TV 2 Maurstad has previously been honest that he is limited in dancing due to Bekhterev’s disease, an autoimmune rheumatic joint disease.
During the episode, you can see the 31-year-old quickly reacted by holding Sandaker’s mouth in front of her when she makes a loud protest. Maurstad tells Se og Hør that he could not react in the same way.
– Keen on children
– It’s really sweet, because she’s reacting on my behalf. But I wouldn’t do it myself, says Maurstad and goes on to say:
– She’s a mother, you know, so it’s probably her motherly heart that kicks in.

– Get support
Following the broadcast, Lingjærde spoke about the incident to TV 2. The judge says that she understands the professional dancer’s reaction.
– She has her role as a professional dancer, as well as a choreographer and educator who will teach. It’s a great job and you get so involved. She does such a good job, she said, adding:
– I would probably have bowed myself.
Get no: – Doesn’t look good
Sandaker says that she has received the judge’s statement, but that she herself has not spoken to Lingjærde yet.
– Merete says she had done exactly the same as me, so then I think I will get support from her. She understands what we live in, and can certainly understand the pressure and that it feels unfair. That’s the way it is, and I don’t have a sour face, says the professional dancer, but points out that it can feel a little frustrating.
