Bathery – Minister M. B. Rajesh said that he will consider controlling the rearing of animals on the forest borders. Distribution of cattle on the forest border should be reduced. The minister said that the local representatives agreed to this in the all-party meeting held in Batheri. The controversial remark of the minister was when he said that it is common for tigers and tigers to kill domestic animals.

Wayanad District Panchayat President Samshad Maraikkar said that domestic animals are the main source of livelihood for the people living in forest border areas. Their number cannot be reduced. Samshad Maraikkar added that if necessary, the number of panchayats ruled by LDF should be reduced.
The meeting also decided to set up two new forest stations. 15 of the 27 decisions taken in the high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister were implemented. The work of installing 250 cameras on the forest borders has started today. Indentured laborers will be employed to create natural habitats. A monitoring committee will be formed at the district level. It was also decided to increase the number of RRT teams.
The meeting was held with the Panchayat representatives under the leadership of Ministers MB Rajesh, AK Saseendran and K. Rajan. UDF representatives walked out of the first all-party meeting. MLAs T. Siddique and IC Balakrishnan walked out of the meeting.
