Thiruvananthapuram – Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran met with Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the midst of the controversy surrounding the allegation that the CPM had sent a letter to Thiruvananthapuram District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan asking him to suggest party members for temporary appointments. The mayor met with the Prime Minister at Cliff House, his official residence. After reaching the prime minister’s office and filing a complaint, Arya made her way to Cliff House. DGP Anilkanth also reached Cliff House.
Earlier the district leadership of the CPM had summoned Arya. Senior district leaders, including members of the state committee, were also called to the meeting. The mayor gave an explanation to the party in the controversy. The explanation is that the letter is not from him and the letter does not have his signature, only the seal. He was also informed that he was not in Thiruvananthapuram on the date indicated in the letter.
A letter has come out to Anavoor Nagappan asking for a list of party members to appoint 295 temporary posts in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. In the letter addressed as “Companion”, he was asked to provide the priority list of candidates after providing details of the vacancies.
