Jakarta –
This fried chicken outlet in Malaysia is stealing attention because its brand is similar to ‘KFC’. So, is the menu and taste similar to that popular fast food restaurant?
KFC is a popular fast food restaurant outlet in America that offers crispy fried chicken as its mainstay menu. Its popularity spreads in various countries, including Malaysia.
Reporting from Says (4/1), KFC is so popular, many outlets want to resemble it. In fact, they don’t hesitate to use similar names, like this fried chicken outlet in Malaysia.
This outlet with the KEXFC brand immediately stole attention in Malaysia. The reason is, this street outlet has a name similar to KFC.
Not only the name is used, but also the logo used by the fried chicken outlet. If KFC uses a logo in the form of the founder of KFC, Colonel Harland Sanders, KEXFC uses a logo with a ‘younger’ figure.

In the KEXFC logo you can see a figure that looks like a younger Sanders. In the logo, the male character does not wear glasses, but still has a mustache.
What about the menu offered by KEXFC? If the original KFC offers crispy fried chicken, KEXFC also offers a fried chicken menu, but with several variations.
Among the menus are scissor chicken, popcorn chicken, chicken satay, and sekor fried chicken. Prices start from RM 1 – RM 10 (Rp 3,330 – Rp 33,308).
KEXFC also provides a soft drink menu. This drink can be served directly with the fried chicken, the container is specially made to place a plastic bowl on top.
Not only in Malaysia, but in Indonesia, similar things have also been found. This boba drink outlet called Ice Time in Depok, West Java looks similar to the Chatime outlet.
The drinks offered by Icetime are served in large buckets. Menu variations range from soursop, mango, cappuccino, to taro. The price is only IDR 5,000 per glass.
