Significant speeding has been observed on the roads of Loiret by the police this weekend.
Saturday, June 25, around 5 p.m., a Loiretain was checked at the wheel of a C4 at a speed of 138 km/h (deduction: 131), despite the limitation to 80 on the D97, in Neuville-aux-Bois. The motorist explained that he was late to go… to a baptism.

Controlled at 225 km/h
On the A10 near Chaingy, Sunday June 26, a 22-year-old man living in Seine-Saint-Denis was controlled at the crazy speed of 237 km/h (retained speed: 225), instead of 130 km/h. He was driving a rented Audi RS3.

He honks and accelerates at the sight of the gendarmes
On the Orville side, on the D948, a 62-year-old motorcyclist living in Guyana was checked at 165 km / h (deduction: 156), instead of 80 km/h, Sunday June 26, around 4:45 p.m. His motorcycle was immobilized at the request of the judicial authority. The biker will have to explain himself to the police court next September.

A little later on the same road, a motorist driving a Mercedes E-Class “honks and accelerates slightly when he sees us checking a vehicle”explains the Loiret gendarmerie.
The motorist, aged 23, will be intercepted on the same road in the return direction, thirty minutes later, at a speed of 137 km/h instead of 80 km/h.
Each of these checked drivers had to hand over their driving license to the gendarmes.
With two grams of alcohol in the blood
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 5:30 am, a 28-year-old Loiretaine was checked on the D975, in Ferrières-en-Gâtinais, with a blood alcohol level of nearly two grams, as she left the nightclub. The gendarmes noticed her while her vehicle was swerving.
In total, the gendarmes of the Loiret departmental road safety squadron carried out the administrative detention of 16 driving licenses for not respecting the speed (11 detentions); excessive alcohol consumption (6 retentions); consumption of narcotics (3 retentions).
