The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation announced its contribution to the “Donate Your Device” campaign launched by the “Digital School”, one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s global initiatives, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
The Foundation’s contribution to the campaign comes within the framework of its commitment to enhancing the educational process in the UAE and the region, empowering youth through technology and disseminating knowledge on a broader scale in society.
The campaign aims to provide used devices, including computers, tablets, and others, provided by individuals and institutions, and renew them according to the highest standards and distribute them to affluent students around the world, to help them obtain better educational opportunities. It also aims to enhance environmental sustainability, through the recycling process. electronic devices.
Many institutions, companies and individuals in the UAE are participating in the campaign, with the aim of providing 10,000 devices to students around the world.
The Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Jamal bin Huwaireb, confirmed that the Foundation supports the campaign’s objectives of increasing access to digital learning, providing educational support to students, reducing environmental pollution, through recycling electronic devices, and enhancing community cooperation and institutional partnerships. He explained that the importance of the initiative is not limited to the humanitarian aspect only, but also contributes to the sustainability and protection of the environment by reducing electronic waste, which is in line with the goals of the Year of Sustainability in the UAE.
Bin Huwaireb added that the Foundation will continue its commitment to supporting development and humanitarian initiatives and endeavors, out of its belief in the importance of concerted efforts to enhance opportunities for cognitive and educational empowerment and achieve sustainable development.
