While the rain is coming in the south, it looks like it will be great summer weather in the north of the country next week.
After an expected blast weekend in southern Norway, changing summer weather is the forecast for the week, according to the Meteorological Institute.
– Low-pressure weather is expected after the weekend, but northern Norway seems to get away cheaper with more sun and stay than in southern Norway. The temperature can also reach around 25 degrees in several places, says on-duty meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes to NTB.
She says it looks like the high pressure will hold until next weekend, but stresses that the summer weather is unpredictable.
Passes 25 degrees
According to MET, it will be fine throughout the northern part of the country at the start of next week.
In Bodø, Yr’s weekend forecast is 13–15 degrees with cloudy weather, while Monday and Tuesday are expected to be cloudy. Sunshine and a maximum temperature of 20-25 degrees are reported in the area from Monday until next weekend again.
In inner parts of Nordland and Troms, it is also reported to be very fine. For example, 25–28 degrees Celsius have been reported in places such as Sulitjelma, Hattfjelldal and Målselv.
For Tromsø, a stable, good temperature of 18–20 degrees with sunshine throughout next week is reported. Further inland in the north it can be warmer. In Kautokeino in Finnmark, a maximum temperature of 26 degrees has been forecast for Tuesday.
In the middle of the tree in central Norway
Central Norway gets warmer than the south, and in Trondheim it is reported as much as 29 degrees on Monday.
– The weather is quite changeable in southern Norway, but Trøndelag seems to be mostly staying put, says Moxnes.
Cooler than normal July
In the Oslo region, the temperature may exceed 25 degrees on Monday as well, before the rain knocks on the door in the afternoon and stays for a few days.
– There will probably be a few days with over 20 degrees in southern Norway this week. So it looks like it will be a bit cooler and wetter than normal in July, says the meteorologist on duty.
In Kristiansand, a maximum temperature of 22 degrees and some rain is reported on Monday. The temperature stays around 20 degrees during the day throughout the week.
For Bergen, it is reported to be gray and slightly cooler throughout next week.
Forest fire danger
There are currently local warnings of forest fire danger in Nordland, Troms and Vest-Finnmark. These can quickly be extended beyond next week if the heat and dry weather continue.
