Quincy and Thura have nine children together. Despite their money worries, they do everything for them. To keep costs down, they like to go to the goat farm with the kids. But that is not completely free, despite the fact that mother Thura herself brings the necessary snacks. For example, the bottles for the kids cost 1.50 euros each. “I like it when they enjoy themselves, then I enjoy myself,” Thura defends the purchase.
A stark contrast to real estate entrepreneur Wesley Adema, who sees more than 57,000 euros deposited into his account every month. In the same episode, he goes out to buy presents for the holidays, but unlike the Huisraad family, he does not have to pay attention to the little ones. They therefore take ‘a small thousand euros’ with them to go shopping for the children’s presents. In the end, the amount comes to over 600 euros, while an average family in the Netherlands spends 116 euros on Sinterklaas presents.
Although he likes to spoil his family, Wesley’s two sons have to do odd jobs if they want something. Or they have to save for it. Nevertheless, the entrepreneur cannot resist helping his kids every now and then. For example, he bought a DJ set for his youngest, including lessons. “He has a great sense of music, that little one,” Wesley says proudly. “Such a mixing console costs quite a bit of money, of course. It also needs a laptop. But if he has a passion for something like that, then I feel happy with my success and that we have money. Then it doesn’t matter what it costs , that it is not his birthday. I wish him that.”
What are they doing? can be seen every Thursday at 21.33 on NPO 1.
