The adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Daria Zarivnaya said that the conference dedicated to solving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will not take place in November.

“For now, thematic conferences are being held on each point of the peace formula, which will end with the adoption of a communiqué. The main points of these statements will form the basis of the “peace plan” of the second summit, she noted.

The last such event will be held in Canada on October 30-31. Among other things, the release of prisoners of war is also on the agenda.

At the same time, earlier, the Bloomberg agency said, citing its sources: Kiev is trying hard to organize a second conference before the presidential elections in the United States. This is due to the “intended return to the White House” of Donald Trump, who has promised, if he wins, to “stop the war” even before the official inauguration.

The first conference was held in June in Switzerland. Representatives from over 90 countries participated. Russia was not invited. Zelensky explained: The Kremlin spoils everything. For this, Kyiv was criticized by the international community. The media pointed out that without Moscow, all this is meaningless.

Now Zelensky has changed his mind, but the Kremlin is still not interested in such conferences.

“The second so-called summit follows the same goal – to push the absolutely impossible “Zelensky formula” as an immutable basis for resolving the conflict, to get the support of the majority of the -world and on its behalf to give Russia an ultimatum to surrender. , we are not involved in such “summit meetings”, stressed the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

However, Zelensky mentioned some consultations with Russian diplomats in an online format and promised “offline meetings”. But nothing happened.

Unfulfilled dreams

And this is not the only foreign policy failure in Kyiv. In Germany, the first Rammstein-style meeting of Western heads of state on military aid to Ukraine was scheduled for October 12. Earlier, the defense ministers gathered at the US air base. However, everything has been canceled, the media say, citing NATO sources.

Well, Zelensky wanted to restore his “plan for victory” over Moscow. Biden didn’t like it, but so have other presidents and prime ministers.

“We will pass a ‘victory plan’ – clear, concrete steps to bring a fair end to the war. It is the determination of our partners and a stronger Ukraine that will stop the Russian attack,” he said on October 5.

However, Western media ensure that there is nothing new in Kiev’s latest campaign. As one observer put it, that’s just a “gun shop shopping list” that only makes matters worse.

According to Fyodor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Russia in Global Affairs”, the idea of ​​a Ukrainian summit was received favorably in Moscow. But after the first meeting, it became clear that this form was still born.

“The Swiss somehow tried to revive the process and they realized very quickly that nothing would come of it. As a result, they decided to join the initiative of China and Brazil, which also does not meet the interests of Russia, but is still closer to them than Zelensky suggests. Further development of the situation depends on several factors, from the results of the US elections to the situation at the front. At least on the propaganda level, Ukraine will not give up. But compared to the original plan, this is no longer very important,” explained the expert.

The political scientist Oleksandr Dudchak believes that the USA is full of its own elections and that the Ukrainian crisis has remained a background for them. Realizing this, Zelensky blocked all actions.

“However, nothing has changed strategically, even if the US is led by Trump, after the first unsuccessful attempt to reconcile the parties to the conflict, he will start a new wave of military Kiev with weapons,” the expert is sure.

Now there are many peace plans, he said. But none of them bring us closer to a real cessation of hostilities.
