This was pointed out by Vice Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, in a press interview on the results achieved in 2022 and the key tasks for this year. .
According to the diplomat, 2022 is the first year to implement Political Bureau Conclusion 12-KL/TW on Work Concerning Overseas Vietnamese in the New Situation and Government Resolution 169-NQ/CP on Continuing of this work during the period 2021-2026. .
The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a coordination effort with ministries, agencies and localities to continue to promote the implementation of these tasks, contributing to consolidating the strength of national unity, in the service of the cause. national construction and development.

In addition, activities aimed at connecting and attracting overseas resources have been actively implemented in various forms, helping to build trust and create a favorable environment for promoting exchanges and cooperation between associations and groups of overseas Vietnamese and the native country.
In 2023, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to revise related legal documents to create more favorable conditions for those who wish to return to the native country to live, study, work and invest, said Pham Quang Hieu.
It will also complete new policies to further promote overseas resources and increase acceptance of overseas compatriots’ opinions on issues related to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, he added.
The official also stressed the need to increase communication activities on Vietnamese-related work abroad and improve the efficiency of the coordination mechanism to actively combat false information and erroneous arguments from hostile forces and reactionaries. – VNA
